Ohlone Rallies to Outlast Sacramento City, 8–6
A late-inning surge and clutch pitching helped Ohlone College overcome an early deficit and defeat Sacramento City College 8–6 on May 3, 2025, in a back-and-forth non-conference battle in Fremont.
Panthers Strike First with Big Second Inning
Sacramento City jumped out to a 4–0 lead in the second inning, sparked by a solo home run from Tyson Mayberry. Lucas Drake followed with a 2-run single, and Jackson Blakley capped the frame with an RBI single to give the Panthers early momentum.
Ohlone's Offense Awakens Midgame
Ohlone responded with a 4-run fourth inning to even the score. RBI singles by Carson Burnett and Tucker Biehl ignited the rally, while a wild pitch and a defensive miscue allowed two more runs to cross. In the fifth, Teagan Reilley drove in the go-ahead run with a base hit before Diego Menjivar delivered a 2-run single to stretch the lead to 7–4.
Late Push Not Enough for Sac City
The Panthers pulled within a run in the bottom of the fifth thanks to an RBI double from Dom Agrella and a run-scoring groundout by Brenden Murphy, but they couldn't capitalize further. Gavin Shaddix added an insurance run for Ohlone with a solo home run in the sixth, and Menjivar shut the door from the mound with seven innings of strong relief to earn the win.
