12th straight win sends CCSF to Northern California regional finals

SAN FRANCISCO – Alessandra Nelson and Jacqueline Cox both scored 13 points each to help lead No. 7-seeded City College of San Francisco to a 58-43 victory over No. 10 Shasta College on Saturday in Round 2 of the 3C2A Northern California Regional Playoffs.

The Rams are just a win away from reaching the state tournament and will travel to face No. 2 San Joaquin Delta College on Saturday (March 8) at 7 p.m. in a Round 3 regional final playoff game in Stockton.

Delta was a 70-51 winner over No. 18 College of San Mateo in its second-round contest. The Mustangs, champions of the Big 8 Conference, improved to 21-8 overall.

San Francisco extended its winning streak to 12 games to move its overall record to 19-8.

CCSF is in search of its first-ever state championship and will look to return to the state tournament for the first time since 2017. The Rams were state championship runner up in 2011 and have reached the state tournament Final Four in 2010, 2011, 2016, and 2017.

The 2025 3C2A State Championships are set for March 13-16 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
