Ohlone named No. 9 seed for Northern California Regional Playoffs

Another state championship run will begin this week for the Ohlone College baseball team.
On Sunday, Ohlone received the No. 9 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs. The Renegades will host No. 16 Sacramento City College in a best-of-three-game series that is scheduled to begin on Friday (May 2) at 2:00 p.m. Game 2 is set for Saturday (May 3) at 11 a.m. with a third game, if necessary, to start at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason event are $13 for general admission and $9 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
The Renegades recently secured a second-place finish in the final Coast Conference South Division standings with a 14-6 mark. Ohlone brings a 31-9 overall record into the postseason. The Renegades' 31 wins are tied for the third most in the state this season.
Under head coach Mike Curran, the Renegades will be making their seventh straight playoff appearance. The Renegades look to return to the state championships for the first time since 2022. Ohlone won its lone state title in 2010.
No. 16 Sacramento City enters the playoffs with a 21-19 overall record and finished tied for fourth place in the Big 8 Conference at 12-12. This weekend marks the first meeting of the season between the two squads.
The winner of the opening series will advance to a three-team, double-elimination Super Regional on May 8-10. Winners of the Super Regionals meet in a three-game Regional Finals series on May 16-18 with a trip to the state championships on the line.
The 3C2A State Championships are scheduled for May 24-26 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
