
SAN FRANCISCO –Xavier Alexander Elder and Chris Jackson both scored and added an assist to help lead City College of San Francisco to a 3-0 Coast Conference win over visiting Monterey Peninsula College on Friday.
The Rams snapped a three-game conference losing streak after getting edged by a goal in their last three contests. CCSF improved to 6-4 overall and 1-3 in the Coast Conference North Division standings.
Jackson got the Rams on the board first when he connected with Elder for a goal in the 16th minute. The duo combined again in the 26th minute, this time Elder knocked in his team-leading 10th goal of the season to give CCSF a 2-0 advantage it took into halftime.
And in the second half, Isaac Borrayo secured the victory with a penalty-kick goal in the 62nd minute.
David Gallegos put together a solid effort in goal for the Rams to post the team's fifth shutout of the season.
CCSF returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 15) when the Rams travel to West Valley College for a 1:30 p.m. Coast Conference game.
