Courtney Simons had a goal and an assist as No. 11-seeded Canada College women's soccer (15-4-0) defeated No. 22-seeded Modesto (6-14-1) 3-0 to move on and play at No. 6-seeded Lake Tahoe.
UPDATE: The match on Saturday has been postponed and an update will be made available online when known.
Simons opened up the scoring in the 39th minute, taking a pass from Yara Gomez-Zavala and scoring from the middle of the box to make it 1-0 just prior to halftime.
Then in the 59th minute Simons weaved through traffic and passed to her right to Giselle Guiterrez, who scored and made it 2-0. Emmiko Kimura finished off the scoring in the 84th minute, rattling it off the top of bar to make it 3-0.
