Arce Leads Cañada In Win Over Chabot College
So. 2B Chris Arce collected three hits in four at bats, as the Colts defeated Chabot College 10-3 on Tuesday at Colt Field.
Cañada was first to jump on the board in the 1st inning on a sac fly by Arce to score one.
A big 2nd inning plated six Colt runs.
Fr. LF Tim Selway drew a walk, scoring one run, Fr. RF Justin Gladfelter hit into a double play, but one run scored, Arce singled, scoring three runs, and So. CF Carson Vance singled, scoring one run.
With the score 7-2 Colts in the bottom of the 4th, Fr. Cole Leschak hit a hard ground ball and reached on an error to score the eighth run.
In the bottom of the 6th, Arce singled to score Fr. SS Caden Cuccia bringing the damage to 9.
The final Colt run scored in the bottom of 7 when Selway scored on a wild pitch.
Fr. LHP Victor Angulo earned the win for Cañada. The lefty allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking two. Fr. RHP Aden Dean pitched 2 innings of scoreless ball in relief. The righty gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
Cañada amassed 12 hits in the game. Arce led with 3, So. C Ethan Payne, Fr. DH Matthew Lofberg, and Cuccia each had 2. Arce led the Colts in stolen bases with 4 of the team's 10.
