The West Valley men's soccer team moved solidly into the thick of the NorCal playoff hunt with a physical, well-played 1-0 win over City College of San Francisco Friday at Dick Schwendinger Field. Daniel Rodriguez gave the Vikings (7-5-3, 5-2-1 Coast-North) the only goal they would need in the 71st minute as he redirected a Salomon Kendaya header off a corner past a diving Isaac Alvarez. Jeron Rojas recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season, turning away four CCSF shots on goal. WVC handed the Rams (5-1-9, 4-1-4) their first loss of the season and now head to Livermore Nov. 2 for a 6:30pm game against Las Positas (6-11-1, 2-6-0).
