The West Valley baseball team fell behind 3-0 but then exploded for 16 unanswered runs in its 16-3 win at Chabot Tuesday. The third straight win for the Vikings (10-13, 4-3 Coast Golden-Gate) was the result of a 23-hit attack and a strong outing from a trio of WVC pitchers. Robby Zanardelli had his best game as a Viking with a 3-5 day that included a two-run homer in the third, a two-run double in the eighth and six RBI. Nate Petrov roped a three-run double in a four-run Viking seventh and Steven Grizzle finished 3-5 with two RBI. After giving up a three-run HR in the first to Chabot's Dom Guintoli, West Valley starter Keegan Baird settled down to pitch four scoreless innings to record the win. Matt Atencio and Christopher Knopf each hurled two scoreless innings in relief, with Atencio notching three K's. Chabot (9-14, 4-3) comes to Valhalla Thursday (3/21). First pitch is 2:30pm.
