The City College of San Francisco volleyball team defeated the Coast-South leading Gavilan College Rams (14-6 overall/4-1 conference) in three sets yesterday at CCSF.

Yesterday's win was a bit of sweet revenge for CCSF. Last year Gavilan bounced CCSF from the postseason in the second round of the CCCAA volleyball playoffs at Gavilan.

In front of the home crowd this time, CCSF (13-7 overall/4-2 Coast-North) dominated Gavilan. Although the first set was a close 25-22, CCSF won the remaining two sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-19.

Forty four of the 80 total attacks by CCSF were kills. Zellia Quarters-Styles, Jennifer Quarters-Styles, and Allysha Seuteni led the team in kills with 17, 15, and 7, respectively. Pamela Dungo set up the majority of the scores for CCSF with a game-high 38 assists.

On defense, CCSF leaned heavily on Lepepaina Malieitulua, who led CCSF with 14 digs and 1 blocked shot. Jennifer Quarters-Styles and Zellia Quarters-Styles followed with 12 digs and 10 digs, respectively.

The Rams will play Chabot College this Friday, October 27 at CCSF. The game will also be played in honor of breast cancer awareness. Come out to Dig Pink Night and help us in the fight against breast cancer.
