It may not have been pretty, but the West Valley men's soccer team stayed in a three-team logjam atop the Coast-North with a 1-0 win over Ohlone Friday at Dick Schwendinger Field. The Vikings (9-5-3, 7-2-1 Coast-North) are knotted with City College of San Francisco and Foothill in the conference with two games to play. Against Ohlone, Abel Flores gave the Vikings the only goal they would need at the 5-minute mark on an assist from Salomon Kendaya. Jeron Rojas kept the Renegades (1-14-3, 1-8-1 Coast-South) off the board with three saves for his fifth clean sheet of the season. WVC travels to Hartnell (9-6-2, 6-3-1) Nov. 12 for a 3pm game against the Panthers. The Vikings close out the regular season at home Nov. 15 against Evergreen Valley (5-10-4, 3-6-2). Kickoff is 12:30pm.
