Hawks dominant in 19-3 win at De Anza

Freshman Kyle Young had game-highs of five goals and five assists to help lead the Las Positas College men's water polo team to a 19-3 Coast Conference win at De Anza College on Wednesday.

With the win, LPC improved to 7-8 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Young scored two of his goals in a close first half that saw the Hawks take a narrow 4-2 lead. But LPC poured it on with six goals in the second to take a convincing 10-3 advantage at halftime. Las Positas outscored De Anza 9-0 over the final two quarters for the blowout.

Luca Cupoletti added four goals while Ross Brown and Steve Ragatz both had three goals each.

Over three quarters, goalie Quentin Perry posted 15 saves and Brown closed out the game with one save over a scoreless fourth quarter.

LPC returns to action this weekend (Oct. 15-16) when the Hawks will compete at the two-day Cuesta College Tournament in San Luis Obispo.
