While related in name only, Aaliyah Lax and Ruthie Lax teamed up in the pool Friday to lead the West Valley women's water polo team to a dominant 17-4 Coast Conference win at City College of San Francisco. The top-ranked Vikings (12-0, 2-0 Coast) took advantage of four Ruthie Lax goals to grab a 10-2 halftime lead and were never threatened after the break.

West Valley's top scorer Johanna Scheer spent the afternoon as goalkeeper and stopped three Ram shots to pick up her first-ever collegiate win in goal. Ruthie Lax finished with a game-high four goals, along with a pair of assists, while Aaliyah Lax posted a dominant three-goal, four-assist, four-steal outing. Maren Rudolph found the back of the net three times, and Hannah Edwards finished with two goals and three steals. Alex Harris completed her second game back after a season-opening injury with two goals, three assists and three steals.

WVC hosts Foothill (0-8, 0-1) Friday (10/7). The ball drops at 3:00pm.
